Device Access Modes

Device Access Modes

Control how devices can view dashboards.

Available Modes

Personal Mode

  • Device can only view dashboards owned by the linking user
  • Other users’ dashboards are not visible
  • Unlinking removes all dashboard access

Shared Mode

  • Device can view dashboards shared with the owner’s account
  • Useful for team dashboards
  • All team members’ dashboards are accessible

Admin Mode

  • Device can view any dashboard in the organization
  • Requires admin privileges to enable
  • Used for lobby displays and common area screens

Changing Access Mode

  1. Go to Devices
  2. Find the device
  3. Click Settings
  4. Under Access Mode, select the desired mode
  5. Click Save

Considerations

  • Personal Mode is best for personal devices
  • Shared Mode works well for team devices
  • Admin Mode should be used sparingly and only for organizational displays

Security

Devices only receive dashboard content they are authorized to view. A device cannot access dashboards outside its access mode permissions.
