dotKiosk App Setup

dotKiosk is a dedicated display app for Raspberry Pi and other Linux devices.

Download

Download the dotKiosk image from your dashboard’s Devices page or from the dotBlast website.

Installation

Flashing the SD Card

  1. Download the dotKiosk image (.img.gz)
  2. Use Balena Etcher or similar tool to flash to SD card
  3. Insert SD card into Raspberry Pi
  4. Power on

First Boot

  1. The device will boot to a configuration screen
  2. Connect to WiFi or Ethernet
  3. Note the device code shown on screen
  4. In the web app, go to DevicesAdd Device
  5. Enter the device code to link

Configuration

Access device settings:

  1. Connect a keyboard and press Esc on the device
  2. Or remote via web app Device settings

Settings include:

  • Dashboard rotation interval — time between switching dashboards
  • Network — WiFi and Ethernet configuration
  • Display — resolution and orientation
  • Updates — auto-update settings

Troubleshooting

  • Press Esc during boot to enter recovery mode
  • Device logs available in the web app under Device → Logs
